Greetings, Peace Bridge Community!
It feels like April showers are finally making way for May flowers, and we are all thrilled for brighter days after months of winter and cold. Mrs. Weaver's Kindergarten Class has been hatching eggs, and our students have enjoyed meeting their baby chicks. What a beautiful reminder of rebirth and hope spring brings! We are also at that point in the year when some homeroom classes earn class of the week for a second time. Our first, and very well deserving group to achieve a 2nd round of Class of the Week is....Mrs. Groulx's Grade 5 Class! These students are often found calmly working in their classroom and are almost always quietly walking when in the hallway, going to Phys. Ed or the Learning Commons. They have also been working hard to move through their levels of the Lexia Reading Program, with some students completing all their levels and graduating from Lexia! They are known to be a great class for not only their Homeroom teacher, but also their French teacher and supply teachers. Way to go, Grade 5's!

Class Planning for Sept. 2026
Over May and June, our staff work collaboratively to organize homeroom classes for Fall 2026. This is a thoughtful and detailed process in which we consider a variety of factors, including student learning needs, peer relationships, and the overall classroom environment that will best support each child’s success.
As educators who work closely with students each day, we bring important insight into this process. At the same time, we recognize that parents and caregivers have valuable perspectives on their child’s experiences that may not always be visible at school. If there are considerations you would like us to be aware of, we invite you to share them using the following form: https://forms.gle/1NQ78C5B9iK3MzLL9. Please submit responses by 8:00 a.m. on May 19.
While we cannot guarantee that all requests can be accommodated, all submissions will be reviewed and thoughtfully considered as part of our class organization process. Once class lists are finalized and shared with families in late August/early September, it is very difficult to make changes to placements. Thank you for taking the time to share information that will help us create supportive and successful learning environments for all students.
Kindergarten Open House!
We’re excited to welcome our newest students and their families to our Kindergarten Open House on May 5th from 4–6 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to help your child get ready for their first day of school in September!
During the Open House, you and your child will be able to:
- Explore a Kindergarten classroom
- Meet members of our school staff
- Confirm your child’s Kindergarten registration
- Learn more about our Kindergarten program
Families who registered before April 13 will have already received an email invitation to attend.
If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time!
Kindergarten Registration FAQs
Can I register online or at the Open House?
Whichever you prefer! Online registration is quick and easy, but we’re happy to help you register in person at the event as well.
What documents do I need?
Please bring:
- Proof of your child’s birthdate (e.g., birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or an official letter from your child’s doctor)
- Proof of your current address (e.g., utility bill or tax bill)*
*Please note that driver’s licences and cell phone bills can’t be used to confirm your address.
Is there anything else I should bring?
Yes—please have the name, phone number, and address of a trusted adult (such as a family member or close friend) whom we can contact in an emergency if we’re unable to reach you.
Can I bring my child?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring your child—they’ll love having a chance to see their new school.
We look forward to seeing you at our Kindergarten Open House on May 5th from 4–6 p.m. Let the adventure begin!
Have a great week, Peace Bridge!
