Grade 8 Grad Party Freezies
Our Grade 8 Parents are throwing their Grads a party AFTER graduation. This party is not organized or supervised by Peace Bridge; however, we support our Grads and their parents in selling freezies over the next few weeks to help offset the cost of the party. Giant freezies will be sold for 1$ during 2nd break this Thursday and next Thursday. We find our younger students need their freezies cut in half, and we give them half the freezie one day and the other half the next. This week we will give our K-2 student half their freezie on
BINGO Sign-Up through September!
Bingo sign-ups are already posted for June, July, August, and September, and we are looking for volunteers.
BINGO funding does incredible things for our students and helps make many opportunities possible throughout the school year. One of the largest expenses covered through BINGO funding is transportation. Thanks to these funds, all of our students have their end-of-year transportation costs covered. BINGO funding also makes it possible for our sports teams to attend tournaments, like the Area Track and Field Meet this past week. Without these funds, many of these opportunities would be difficult to provide, as we do not have enough volunteer drivers available to transport our athletes.
This year, our Intermediate students were invited to attend a performance of Les Misérables at Laura Secord Secondary School in St. Catharines. Tickets were only $5, and because transportation was covered through BINGO funding, we were able to offer this experience at the price of just the ticket, without any additional cost to families.
We never want our students to miss out on opportunities to compete, participate in field trips, or experience outstanding arts performances because of transportation costs. Every BINGO shift helps make these experiences possible.
At the moment, a small group of dedicated volunteers is carrying much of this important work. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment. As the saying goes, many hands make light work. If a few more families were able to contribute just a few hours throughout the year, it would help share the responsibility and ensure that these valuable opportunities continue to be available for all students.
Thank you for considering how you might be able to support this important fundraising initiative.
