2026-2027 Transportation Schedules
Your child’s transportation schedule is available at any time through the NSTS Parent Portal.
Please note that the transportation information currently displayed is preliminary and may change before the start of the school year. Throughout the summer, routes are reviewed and adjusted to ensure safe and efficient service, and additional changes may occur as new students register.
Final transportation information for the first week of school will be available in the Parent Portal on Thursday, September 3 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). To help ensure a smooth start to the school year, we strongly encourage parents and guardians to check the Parent Portal again over the Labour Day weekend to confirm their child’s transportation details before the first day of school.
Notification of Class Placement
Information regarding class placements will be sent on Friday September 4, at noon. If you have more than one child, you will receive multiple emails, and they may come a few hours apart as we manually create the emails for each student. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
First Day of School
Students in Grades 1-8 will be welcomed on the back tarmac. Teachers will gather their classes and enter the school. Kindergarten students will meet in the play area at the front of the school. We ask that parents say goodbye to students at the gate, as that is the routine throughout the school year and starting from Day 1 makes this transition easier for children.

Supporting Student Well-Being This Year
Our school will have access to two important members of our student well-being team: a Youth Counsellor and a Social Worker. While their roles sometimes overlap, each brings a distinct kind of support to our students.
Our Youth Counsellor works directly within the school to help students build skills in self-regulation, problem-solving, and getting along with others. You might see them supporting a small group of students working through a disagreement, helping a student calm down and refocus after a difficult moment, or checking in. Although our Youth Counsellor supports more than one school, they are a regular and familiar presence in our building, building relationships with students and staff and providing timely, in-the-moment support that helps students get back on track. This type of support is a natural part of the school day and doesn't require advance notice. However, if your child would benefit from more focused, ongoing one-on-one support from the youth counsellor, we will always reach out to you first to discuss this and get your permission before that support begins.
Our Social Worker provides a different, more specialized level of support. They offer clinical assessment and more intensive, therapeutic counselling for students who need deeper support, and they help connect families to community agencies and ongoing services outside the school. The Social Worker also works closely with the Youth Counsellor and school staff to make sure students are getting the right level of support at the right time. Social Work support is provided in partnership with families. Whether services are requested by a parent/guardian or recommended through conversations with the school team, parent/guardian consent is always required before services begin.
Together, these two roles help ensure that every student has access to support - whether that's a quick check-in to reset after a tough moment, or a more structured plan involving outside resources. If you ever have questions or concerns about your child's well-being, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school office, who can help connect you with the right person on our team.
